Ford revealed their return to Formula 1 and plans to collaborate with reigning champions Red Bull in the upcoming power unit regulations for 2026. Mark Rushbrook, a Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports, outlined the details of the partnership between Ford and Red Bull.

The plan for the Red Bull Ford Powertrains to power both Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri from the 2026 season is centered around the Red Bull campus in Milton Keynes, where Ford is set to have their building to house the power unit program. This building will be equipped with dynos to help optimize the power units and will be embedded into the racing team, allowing the total package to be optimized before it heads onto the track.

This collaboration will be a two-way affair, with Ford providing the necessary technology and engineering knowledge, while Red Bull will provide their know-how and expertise in Formula 1. Red Bull will take on the development of the power unit, while Ford will provide support in managing the design and development of the power unit.

The partnership between Ford and Red Bull is set to be exciting, with the collaboration between the two sporting giants likely to bring about some exciting results for 2026. Red Bull's knowledge of the sport and Ford's engineering expertise should make for an interesting combination that could potentially see Red Bull dominate for the foreseeable future.
